How Innovation Champions Frame the Future: Three Visions for Digital Transformation of Construction

Digital technologies are expected to create transformational change in the construction sector. Previous studies have either anticipated impact of individual or outlined a number nontechnology-focused future scenarios. There is comparatively little work on how innovation champions frame by combining range digital and trends (such as big data, internet things, automation) transform construction. Drawing an interview-based study with UK professionals, this paper presents three emergent visions for transformation These efficient construction, user-data-driven built environment, value-driven computational design. Arising practitioner narratives, these all emphasize different partially influenced, intertwined, interconnected technology, business, policy discourses Furthermore, represent trajectories implementing This contributes foresight articulating multiplicity has implications researchers, practitioners, makers responsible toward possible, profitable, desirable futures.
